Mary grew up in the Upper Valley and has always loved animals. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor's of science in Zoology.  She spent a few years working with wild birds in different parts of the country before returning to New Hampshire to focus on loons. She developed an interest in veterinary medicine and worked for the Upper Valley Humane Society medical department for a couple of years before joining Stoney Brook in 2024.  She enjoys spending time with her crew of animals  including one  dog, two cats, a guinea pig and five hermit crabs.
